Eligibility Criteria

Civilian Motor Transport Driver

  • Must have passed 10th class.
  • Should have a valid driving license for both heavy and light vehicles.
  • Should have at least 2 years of experience in driving motor vehicles.
  • Must have basic knowledge of motor mechanics (able to fix minor defects).

Fork Lift Operator

  • Must have passed 10th class.
  • Should have a certificate in the respective trade from ITI or a recognized institution with at least 1 year of experience.
  • OR should have 3 years of experience in the trade where no ITI training is available.
  • Must have a valid heavy-duty vehicle driving license.

Sheet Metal Worker

  • Must have passed 10th class.
  • Should have completed an apprenticeship in the relevant trade or training from an ITI with 1 year of experience.
  • OR should have 4 years of experience in the trade where no ITI training is available.
  • Must pass a trade entrance exam.

Carpenter

  1. Must have passed 10th class.
  2. Should have completed an apprenticeship or training from an ITI with 1 year of experience.
  3. OR should have 4 years of experience in the trade where no ITI training is available.
  4. Must pass a trade entrance exam.

Fireman

  • Must have passed 10th class.
  • Should be physically fit and able to perform strenuous duties.

Selection Process

Physical Test

Height (without shoes): 165 cm (2.5 cm concession for ST and candidates from hilly areas).
Chest:
  • Unexpanded: 81.5 cm
  • On expansion: 85 cm
Weight: Minimum 50 kg.
Endurance Test: 
  • Carry a man weighing 63.5 kg for 183 meters within 96 seconds.
  • Clear a 2.7 meters wide ditch by landing on both feet.
  • Climb a 3 meters vertical rope using hands and feet.

Written Test 

Formate: Pen-paper based, 1 hour duration.
Questions: 80 objective-type questions, 1 mark each (no negative marking).
Subjects:
  • Mathematics: 20 questions
  • General English: 20 questions
  • General Awareness: 20 questions
  • Reasoning Ability: 20 questions
Passing Marks:
  • UR: 40 marks
  • SC: 36 marks
Merit List: Based on marks in the written test. In case of a tie, the older candidate gets higher merit. 

Trade Test

Candidates applying for Civilian Motor Transport Driver, Fork Lift Operator, Sheet Metal Worker and Carpenter will undergo a trade test after qualifying the written test (qualifying in nature).

Physical Fitness and Endurance Test 

For Fireman, selection depends on passing the physical fitness and endurance tests.
